HURON — Huron senior lineman Elliot DeVries filled one of the athlete positions on the Class 11AA all-state football team, which was announced Tuesday by the South Dakota Football Coaches Association.

DeVries filled spots on the line for the Tigers on both sides of the ball. On defense, he recorded 32 solo and 18 assisted tackles, including 15 tackles for a loss and three sacks.

“Elliot Was the anchor of our defensive and offensive lines. He was our best player and competed, disrupted, and had success against every team we played” Huron coach Dru Strand said. “He was at times the best player on the field.”

Senior running back Quinston Luellman-Clark also earned honorable mention on the Class 11AA all-state team for the Tigers. He had 99 carries for 419 yards and five touchdowns, while having five catches for 45 yards.

“He is a shifty running back that was a huge key to our success this year,” Strand said.
