Her funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church at Wessington. A private burial will follow. Her service will be live streamed through Kuhler Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Dolores LaVonne Patridge was born in Wessington, to Floyd and Gladys Patridge July 19, 1932. She graduated from Wessington High School and married Darrell Siegling in 1950. Darrell and Dolores raised four children on their farm near Wessington. Dolores was active in her community and church and was a skilled seamstress and cook.

In 1980, they set out on the biggest adventure of their married life planning, designing and building a home in Wessington. After leaving the farm, Dolores embraced the next phase of her life, going back to school to earn an accounting degree, and enjoying a career as the manager of the jewelry department at JC Penney in Huron, until her retirement. In 2015, Dolores moved to Sioux Falls, where she loved spending time with her family and her cat, crocheting, reading, and watching her great-grandchildren growing up, whether in person, pictures or videos.

Dolores was the last surviving member of her generation of the John and Bertha Siegling family.

Dolores is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Siegling of Huron, Darla (Sam) Lukens of Tea, Dennis Siegling of Tea, and Dawn Siegling of Lakeville Minn.; her grandchildren, Rebecca Siegling Hartman (Andrew) of Winnebago, Minn., Daniel Siegling of Volga, and Alex Schaefbauer of Monmouth Ore.; her great-grandchildren, Sophie Siegling of Bradenton, Fla., and Cole and Leighton Hartman of Winnebago, Minn.; her brother, Marlin (Janis) Patridge of Las Vegas, Nev.; her nieces, nephews and friends, her close friend, Hazel Rowen; and her special companion, Miss Kitty.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrell; and grandson, Steven Siegling.
