FAULKTONā— Dolores Ruhlman Selting, 87, of Faulkton, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Aberdeen ManorCare.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, at the United Church of Faulkton. Burial will follow in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation, with family present, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton.
Dolores June Schilder was born August 1, 1930, in Faulk County to Reynolds “Pete” and Rosa (Rutherford) Schilder. She graduated from Faulkton High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to David Ruhlman July 16, 1948. The couple built Dave’s Motel at Faulkton in 1958, and operated it until 1980. She was a longtime member of the United Church of Faulkton. In November of 1980, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Selting.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Dan) Hobbs of Mission Viejo, Calif., Alan (Judy) Ruhlman of Aberdeen, Doyle (Marilyn) Ruhlman of Brookings, and Dennis Ruhlman of Brookings; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous stepchildren; and sister, Vera Uminger.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; longtime friend, Jim Martinmaas; and sister, Phyllis Stanforth.
Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Faulkton and the Special Olympics.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Dolores’ arrangements.
