ROGERS, Ark. — Don R. Wipf, 74, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, following a long illness. 
Family and friends are invited to attend an informal memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, January. 6, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers, Ark.
Don was born July 20, 1943, in Doland to Warren and Mary (Kleinsasser) Wipf. He attended Doland High School and was a graduate of Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Deutschendorf in 1969.
He worked in advertising, sports coverage, as editor and part-owner of the Hillsboro Star-Journal until 1979. He was general manager of the Anamosa Journal-Eureka in Iowa until 1982. He worked in advertising at the Dodge City Daily Globe, Metro 5 in Wichita, and the Hillsboro Free Press until he retired in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Chuck (Sharon) Wipf of Rogers, Ark., and Rhea Wolf of Portland, Ore.; granddaughters, Scarlet and Madrone Wolf-Proctor, and Rosalyn and Rebecca Wipf; brother, Terry (Marilynn) Wipf of Sterling Heights, Mich.; mother-in-law, Vera Flaming; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance may be given to Habitat for Humanity of Benton County or the Society of Professional Journalists.
