FAULKTON — Donna Bent Schmidt, 87, of Faulkton, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Faulkton Senior Living in Faulkton.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Bill Hoffman presiding. Burial of her cremains will follow in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery at Faulkton.
Donna Bent was born July 29, 1930, in Miranda to Arthur and Lena (Ickler) Bent. She received her education in Faulkton and went on to earn her teacher’s certificate at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen.
She taught country school in Faulk county until moving to Montana where she learned to do upholstery while working with Peggy Dahme. She returned to Faulkton where she ran her own upholstery shop.
She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, and watching girls’ basketball. She would attend any game that she could. She also loved animals, especially cats and dogs.
She is survived by her brothers, Dick (Joan) Bent, and Roger (Maryann) Bent all of Faulkton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Bent; and two sisters, Delores Ford, and Bonnie Meyer.
