HURON — Doris Caroline Pearl, 95, of Huron, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, while residing at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Her graveside service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, in Riverside Cemetery.
Doris was born July 31, 1922, in Thayer County, Neb. to Frederick and Anna (Fangmeier) Willmann. She graduated from Hubbell (Neb.) High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to Ralph C. Pearl June 24, 1942.
She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. Shelves were filled with home canned produce and the freezer with apple pies and other goodies. She was a talented seamstress — sewing clothes for her daughters and herself. She was also an avid needle worker in embroidery, crewel and crochet. She supported her daughters in all their efforts—school music events, Girl Scouts, and church activities. She enjoyed making cat-shaped pancakes at breakfast for her daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Beth (Peter) Mazzella, and Phyllis Marie (David Erk) Pearl-Erk.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; and by her husband of 56 years, Ralph Pearl.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kuhler Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Huron.
