HURON – Downtown Huron will be the place to be on Saturday for the Downtown Street Fest, set to begin at 11 a.m. at Third Street and Dakota Avenue South, with hours of activities, culminating in a Poker Walk starting at Hurst’s Corner at 5 p.m. followed by a street dance from 9 p.m. to midnight and featuring the Black Water Band for those 18 and over.
Proceeds from the walk will benefit the United Way Heartland Region.
There will be a variety of activities for all ages, including games, a cane ball tournament, a bean bag tournament, music and food.
Also, there will be shopping galore with downtown businesses and businesses around town.

A highlight from the 2016 Downtown Street Fest that will be back this Saturday will be the dunk tank.
With support from the National Guard, there will be an opportunity for people to dunk our military men and women.
Other activities will be a talent contest, face painting and a balloon guy.
The talent contest will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Entries should be emailed to downtownstreetfest@gmail.com.
The bean bag tournament will feature two-person teams and the cane ball tournament will feature six-person teams. There will be prizes for the winners.
