DSU holds spring commencement

MADISON — Dakota State University in Madison, held its spring commencement ceremony May 5, in the DSU Fieldhouse. Of the 347 graduates, 41 received associate degrees, 232 earned baccalaureate degrees, 68 received master’s degrees and six earned doctoral degrees.
The following Heartland-area students were among those receiving their degrees.

Honors distinctions include:

Summa Cum Laude (3.9 GPA or higher); Magna Cum Laude (3.7 to 3.9 GPA); and Cum Laude (3.5 to 3.7 GPA): Jessica Dawson, Artesian, Bachelor of Science in Education - Mathematics Education (Summa Cum Laude); Kennedi Ford, Redfield, Bachelor of Science in English for New Media (Magna Cum Laude); Jeremy Gebhart, De Smet, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems - Project Management and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science; Kelsey Poppen, De Smet, Bachelor of Science in Education - Elementary Education (Magna Cum Laude); Kendra Walter, Huron, Bachelor of Science in Education -Business Education (Summa Cum Laude).
