REDFIELD — Duane Roger Becker, 73, of Redfield, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at home.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery at Redfield. Visitation with the family present, will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hyke Funeral Home.
Duane Roger Becker was born May 24, 1945, in Redfield to Harold and Vera (Schmidt) Becker. Duane graduated from Redfield High School in 1963. He served three years in the U.S. Army including a one-year tour in Germany with the infantry.
He was a crop sprayer until a plane accident ended his career. He moved to Rapid City and worked for Black Hills Workshop, did taxi driving, security, and truck driving.
He is survived by his children, Derik (Sammy) Eberle of Sioux Falls, Stephanie Eberle of Redfield, Diana Jo (Terry) Burger of Howard, and Robert Enoch of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Darlene (Ken) Kunze of St. Paul, Neb., and Dixie (Steven) Hickens of Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Deidre in infancy; son Gunnar who lost his young life in Iraq while serving in the military; and brother Darwin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield.
