Eighth graders fall to Arrows in volleyball

WATERTOWN — The Watertown Arrows eighth-grade volleyball team held off the Huron Tigers 2-1 Thursday afternoon.

Set scores for Watertown were 21-25, 25-19 and 15-5.

Huron was led by Maggie Storm with six kills, while Piper DeJean had six assists and four kills, and Reagan Bischoff added five.

On Monday, Pierre used set scores of 25-22, 22-25 and 15-13 to edge Huron in the A-match.

Maggie Storm had four killson 6 of 12 hitting to lead the Tigers. Reagan Bischoff was 10 of 12 with three kills, while Claire Davis was 7 of 9 with three kills and Piper DeJean ws 8 of 11 with a kill.

Davis was 11 of 11 serving with five aces, while Bischoff was 10 of 11 with three aces. Storm had two aces on 7 of 10 serves, while Roselena Moreno was 6 of 7 with a pair of aces.

Bischoff led Huron, which is now 5-3, with eight assists and DeJean had three assists.

Pierre swept Huron 25-13 and 25-18 in the B-match.

Kayla Nunez and Storm were each 4 of 5 serving with an ace for the Tigers, while Isabella Fechner and Amy Mejia-Castillo each were 3 of 4 with an ace.
