MITCHELL — Eileen Anna Schmit, 86, of Mitchell, and formerly of Artesian, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Masks are required at the services. The funeral service will be live-streamed.
Eileen Anna Spahn was born July 13, 1934, in St. Louis to Harry and Irene Spahn.
She married Francis Schmit December 23, 1951.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Allen (Lynette), Kevin (Rebecca), Craig, Terry (Chris), Tim, and Robert (Brenda); 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Wayne Weld; sister-in-law, Mabel Schmit; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; infant children, David and Mary Ann; great-grandson, Tomas; sister, Nancy Weld; and brothers, Robert and Ronald Noell.
