Eileen Christopherson, 90, of Wolsey

WOLSEY — Eileen Agnes (Minium) Christopherson, 90, of Wolsey and formerly of Huron, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket. 
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday June 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey. Burial will follow in the Wolsey Cemetery.  Visitation is today from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Kuhler Funeral Home with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening.
Eileen was born June 18, 1927, to Guy and Stella (Pribyl) Minium in Allen Township in Beadle County. She was raised in the Wolsey area, attending school there, before attending Huron College to obtain a teaching certificate. She then taught school from 1946 to 1948 at the Tipton School in Nance Township, Beadle County. Teaching those days involved teaching, all janitorial work, making sure there was water and keeping the “fire” going.  She was once asked, what the key to choosing a career is, her answer was “choose the right guy.”
On November 6, 1948, Eileen married Arnold Christopherson. They spent their entire married life on a farm east of Wolsey, where they raised their three children. Eileen enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, and gardening, including flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed traveling on bus trips to numerous places.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; one brother, Paul; and three sisters, Thelma, Ethel and Joy.
Eileen is survived by her three children; Martin (Karen) Christopherson, Judith (Phil) Miller, and Kelly (Michelle) Christopherson; six grandchildren, Dustin (Susan) Christopherson, Darby (Aaron) Magnuson, Danielle (Michael) Keeton, Scott Miller, Samantha Christopherson, and Kyle Christopherson; and eight great-grandchildren; Austin, Aleise and Addelyn Christopherson, Mariah and Megan Miller, Collyns and Carsyn Keeton and Ramsey Magnuson.
