Eileen Theresa Moes, 88, of Watertown

WATERTOWN — Eileen Theresa Moes, 88, of Watertown, formerly of Goodwin, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, in Watertown.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. The celebrants will be Fr. Ken Koster and Fr. Bob Krantz. Music will be provided by the church choir accompanied by Eileen Lindner. The family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 10 a.m. for a prayer service. Burial will take place in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at Kranzburg. Pallbearers will be Eileen’s sons, Greg Moes, Jim Moes, John Moes, Joe Moes and Jeff Moes; and her sons-in-law, Denis Drake, Thomas Chipman, Tom Beaudry and Larry Hard. Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a 7 p.m. Scripture Wake Service followed by the Rosary.
Eileen was born on February 6, 1929, at Watertown to Mike and Mary (Donahue) Wagner. She attended school at District #52 in Codington County through the eighth grade and graduated from Watertown High School. Eileen went on to further her education by attending College of Notre Dame Junior Academy at Mitchell for one year, receiving her Teaching Certificate. She taught for two years at District #11 in Codington County.
On November 7, 1949, Eileen married Gerald Moes at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.Following their marriage, Eileen and Gerald worked together on the family dairy farm where they raised their family. She was a very active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Holy Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Red Hat Ladies’ Society. She also volunteered at Prairie Lakes Hospital. Eileen enjoyed bowling, golfing and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Eileen is survived by her children, Theresa (Denis) Drake of Huron, Peggy Moes of Huron, Greg (Julie) Moes of Goodwin, Jim (Kathy) Moes of Goodwin, Sue (Tom) Beaudry of Watertown, Pat Decker of Huron, John (Donita) Moes of Watertown, Joe (Karla) Moes of Watertown, Laurie (Thomas) Chipman of Huron, Michele (Larry) Hard of Blue Earth, Minn., and Jeff (Lynnette) Moes of Watertown; 34 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Moes and Mary Ellen Bechtel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 2003; two granddaughters, Dana Beaudry, and Nichol Moes Lotzer; two grandsons, Gary Moes and Scott Moes; one great-grandson, Owen Eaglestar; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Corcoran; one son-in-law, Alan Decker; her parents; three brothers, Mark Wagner, Bud Wagner and Bill Wagner; two sisters, Kathleen Wagner and Margaret Schleusner; two brothers-in-law, Paul Moes and Ronald Moes; and two sisters-in-law, Armella Fox and Lorretta Schwanke.
