HURON — Elaine Buchholz, 87, of Huron and formerly of Redfield, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron.  
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery at Redfield. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.  
Elaine Vera Peimann was born in Crandon June 2, 1931, to Herman and Minnie (Koester) Peimann. Elaine attended grade school in Crandon and was a 1949 graduate of Redfield High School. On September 4, 1949, Elaine married Lloyd W. Buchholz in Crandon.  To this union, two children were born.  Elaine and Lloyd resided and raised their children on a farm near Hitchcock until 1971, when they moved to Redfield.
Elaine was a homemaker and a wonderful cook, always making large meals for her family and their hired men. She was very friendly and quick witted. Elaine loved good conversations. She especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, games, golf, and quilting. Her inquisitiveness led her to become efficient on the computer, learning to play pinochle online with friends from all over. Elaine also used the computer to keep in touch with her children and grandchildren.
Elaine was very active in her church and served on the Funeral Committee and the Church Quilters.  She was also a member of the Lioness Club.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Kathy Olsen of Hitchcock; son, Daryl (Joyce) Buchholz of Manhattan, Kan.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Collin (Jamie) Olsen and Connor and Ryan of Topeka, Kan., Andrea (Matt) Morlock and Blake and Easton of Brookings, Kristin (John) Trana and Sydney and Shelby of Monroe, Joan (Mickey) Morris and Nolan, Dana and Keira of Lino Lakes, Minn., Anne (TJ) Lee and Joey and Hunter of Derby, Kan., and Gina (Michael) Donnelly of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Ernest Peimann; sisters, Alta Masat, Bertha Schmeeckle, Esther Ross, Edna Peimann, and Delpha Dumke; great-grandson, Sean Morris; and son-in-law, Jim Olsen.
 Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home.
