Angela Kennecke of KELO-Land News spoke about her daughter, Emily, who was 21 when she died last May of a fentynl overdose. During a program at Huron High School Monday, she told the audience, which included many students, of changes she noticed in her daughter. Her daughter would have turned 22 last Saturday, and is described as artistic, smart and athletic. The dose of fentanyl that took her life was six times higher than what would have been safe for a large man. Kennecke has been sharing Emily’s story in the hopes of preventing another tragedy. She started Emily’s Hope to help those struggling with addiction receive the help they need. Visit Avera.org/Emily.
