Experience the ‘Living Passion’ Wednesday

HURON — Holy Trinity Catholic Parish will present, “Living Passion of the Cross,” for youth confirmation and discipleship at 7 p.m., on Wednesday at the church.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Holy Trinity’s youth will be following the traditional 14 Stations of the Cross that appeared in the 18th century.
The dress rehearsal of “Living Passion of the Cross,” which was scheduled for Wednesday was cancelled. Rehearsal has been rescheduled to take place at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Charleen Kappler, involved in youth education at Holy Trinity, is director.

Student director is Claire Gilbert, and serving as narrators will be Fatima Reyes and William Torres.
Eminem Ramirez has been cast as Jesus.
“The weather has caused a lot of challenges,” said Kappler.
Dress rehearsal was cancelled last Wednesday, and has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon at 4:30.
“After that, we rely on the Spirit to guide us through the Stations on Wednesday,” Kappler said. “It always works out, that’s the thing.”
In an attempt to make the walk of Jesus more realistic, the youth and adult leaders of Holy Trinity added costumes, music, sound and lighting effects, Kappler said.
“The hope is to draw in those who are looking for the love only Jesus can give us,” she added.
Kappler said she has been working with Catholic youth since she entered Presentation College after high school in 1968.
“This is my 50th year of doing this, not all here,” Kappler said. “Every year I say I’m not going to do it again. One of the things my father said was if you want to stay young, stay with the young. They really energize you.
“The main reason I always keep coming back to work with youth is they remind me that they are our hope for the future,” she said. “If there is anything I can do or say that will prepare them for that future, I pray I’ve done or will do so.”
