Fall sports practices set to begin at HHS

HURON — The first fall sports practices for the 2023-24 season will begin for Huron High School on July 31.

The boys’ soccer team (grades 7-12) will practice from 5-7 p.m., at HHS, while the girls’ soccer team (grades 7-12) is slated to practice from 6-8 p.m., at HHS.

Also slated to begin on July 31 is girls tennis (grades 9-12) from 6-8 p.m., at Winter Park Courts and cheer and dance from 6-9 p.m., at the Tiger Activities Center.

Football for grades 9-12 will begin Aug. 7 with the first practice slated for 6-8 a.m., at the HHS practice field.

Also slated to begin on Aug. 7 is boys’ golf (grades 9-12), which will meet at 8 a.m., at Broadland Creek Golf Course, and girls’ tennis for grades 6-8 at Winter Park Courts at 3:45 p.m.

Volleyball for grades 9-12 will begin Aug. 10. Practice is slated for 8-10 a.m., and 2-4 p.m., at Huron Arena.

Cross country for boys and girls in grades6-12 will also begin Aug. 10. The first practices is from 9 -11 a.m., at HHS.

Starting on Aug. 17 will be boys’ golf (grades 6-8, 3:45 p.m., at Broadland Creek Golf Course.); volleyball (grades 7-8, 3:30-5:30 p.m., at Huron Middle School); and football (grades 7-8, 3:30-5 p.m., in HMS gym).

The Fall Orientational Meeting will be held July 26 in the HHS Commons for all middle school and high school athletes/parents.
