Five area volleyball games 9-25

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Iroquois/Doland 0
WOONSOCKET – The Blackhawks of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket swept the Iroquois/Doland Lady Chiefs Thursday 25-13, 25-8, 25-11.

Brooke Doering led Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (4-4) with 10 kills and a pair of blocks on the night. Morgan Schmiedt tallied 19 assists and a pair of aces.

Teya Moody led the Blackhawks with 10 digs and added a pair of aces. Trista White led the team with six service aces to go with six kills.

Iroquois/Doland fell to 2-9 on the year. Kaitlyn Maas led the team with eight digs on the night.

The Lady Chiefs will host Freeman Academy/Marion Saturday. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket hosts Freeman Monday in Forestburg.

Redfield 3, Miller 2
REDFIELD – The Redfield Pheasants pulled off a tough win on Tuesday over the Miller Rustlers, 25-14, 17-25, 21-25, 28-26, 17-15.

Redfield moves to 4-4 on the year with the victory. The Pheasants were led by Courtney Turck with 14 kills, 17 digs, and a pair of aces on the night.

Camryn Rohlfs led Redfield with 23 assists and added 16 digs.

For Miller (1-6), Storm Johnsen had a strong match, with 18 kills, 18 digs, and even posting a service ace on 17-of-17 serving.

Kathryn Aymar went 18-of-20 from the service line with five aces on the night. Alvena Batin posted 35 assists for the Rustlers, while Macie Werdel led the team with 19 digs.

Miller took the JV match 23-25, 25-16, 15-9.

Redfield travels to Mellette to battle Northwestern on Tuesday. Miller hosts Chamberlain Tuesday.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Iroquois-Doland 0
HITCHCOCK – The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots swept Iroquois-Doland Lady Chiefs Tuesday night at home 25-8, 25-14, 25-14.

Hitchcock-Tulare was led by Kenidee Enander, who was a perfect 49-of-49 in setting with 14 assists. She also had a pair of service aces on the night.

Madison Hofer was 16-of-16 from the service line with four aces on the night for the Lady Patriots. Katelyn Schroeder led the team with 10 digs, while Dannyn Peterson led the team with eight hits.

The Lady Chiefs fell to 2-8 with the loss. Katie Dubro led the team with three hits and three digs. Kaitlyn Moss posted three digs and four blocks on the night.

Hitchcock-Tulare travels to Canistota on Saturday. Iroquois/Doland hosts Freeman Academy/Marion Saturday.

Sunshine Bible Academy 3, Lower Brule 0

MILLER – The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders swept the visiting Lower Brule Lady Sioux on Tuesday by a score of 25-17, 25-18, 25-13.

The Crusaders picked up their first win to move to 1-5 on the year. Abby Haun had a perfect night serving and setting, going 11-11 serving with four aces and 13-13 setting with seven assists to lead the Crusaders. She also added 12 digs.

Liza Konechne led Sunshine Bible with 13 digs. Ruthe Lopez posted 11 digs and four blocks. Aja Paul had 10 digs and led the team with seven kills.

Lower Brule fell to 0-3 on the season with the loss.

The Crusaders will host Hitchcock-Tulare Tuesday.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 2
WOLSEY – The Warbirds of Wolsey-Wessington and Blackhawks of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket engaged in a hard-fought battle Tuesday in Wolsey, with the Warbirds coming out on top 25-16, 21-25, 25-17, 24-26, 15-9.

The Warbirds moved to 2-5 with the victory. Mya Boomsma had a big night, with 26 kills. Hailey Clarke recorded 18 assists for Wolsey-Wessington.

The Blackhawks (3-4) had an impressive match from Trista White, who posted 16 kills, 26 digs, and recorded three service aces. Morgan Schmiedt led Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with 23 assists.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will host Freeman at Forestburg Monday. Wolsey-Wessington travels to Gettysburg to take on Potter County on Saturday.
