HURON — Brittney Flikka has been promoted to assistant clinic director, according to Jennifer Kalahar, CPME, director of clinics for Huron Regional Medical Center.

Flikka has worked as office manager for the Women’s Wellness Center, HRMC’s obstetrics and gynecology clinic, since April of this year. In her new role, Flikka works with Kalahar in the planning and coordinating the business operations of the HRMC Physicians Clinic, Specialty Clinic and Women’s Wellness Center. She is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the revenue cycle, marketing and receptionist staff.

“As we continue to grow our clinic operations, supporting staff in their day-to-day activities is key to positive patient experiences,” explained Kalahar. “Brittney’s prior experiences in clinic systems have prepared her well to provide that support and direction.”

Originally from Iowa, Flikka graduated from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion with a Bachelor of Business in Healthcare Administration. She also holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Prior to joining Women’s Wellness Center, Flikka served as regional office manager for Horizon Health Care in Howard. She also worked as a business planner/corporate development for Altru Health System in Grand Forks, N.D. Flikka served as an EMT/Medic in the United States Army National Guard.

“I enjoy using my skills and experience to help our teams manage the ever-changing pace of clinic operations — especially given the additional safety precautions we have in place to protect ourselves and our patients,” Flikka said. “I look forward to helping HRMC continue to grow and expand so we can serve the health care needs of our region.”

She and her husband, Matt, who works at Wapiti Medical Staffing, live south of Woonsocket on Twin Lakes with their two-year-old son Beckett. In her spare time, Flikka enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, reading and being outdoors.
