LENNOX — Florence A. Maxwell Diede, 94, of Lennox, formerly of Redfield, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Lennox.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at the Redfield United Methodist Church. Burial will be 1 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Aberdeen. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Family will be present starting at 6 p.m.
Florence Adline Shafer was born June 1, 1925, in Leola, to Alfred and Bertha (Ruhs) Shafer. She attended Leola Schools. She was united in marriage to Ralph Maxwell in 1948. On March 1, 1957, she married Edwin Diede.
She is survived by her children, Larry Maxwell of Sioux Falls, Kathy Gunderson of Aberdeen, Gary Maxwell of Watertown, Darold Diede of Sioux Falls, and Anna Schwartz of Redfield; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; grandson, Justin DeYoung; son-in-law, Warren DeYoung; and 11 siblings.
