Foster Grandparent Program

HURON — Do you want to know a secret? There are children in your community who would benefit from a Foster Grandparent just like you in their classroom.
You can help children who need someone to read with them, help them with school work, tell them stories and be there when they need a smile or a hug.
Foster Grandparents positively influence children at schools, daycare centers, Head Start centers and other youth facilities by acting as role models and mentors.
If you are 55 or older and want to make a difference in the life of a child, you might be just the person we are looking for! Along with the warm fuzzy feeling you get from volunteering, you will receive a small stipend, transportation assistance, paid time off, holidays and ongoing training and recognition.
