WESSINGTON — Frances Ann Carmody, 82, of Wessington, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Sunquest Healthcare Center in Huron.
She has been cremated and her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller with Reverend Paul T. Josten officiating. Following, there will be a luncheon in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Miller.
Frances Ann Carmody was born November 7, 1935 , to Shiel and June (Ferguson) Carmody. She loved spending time outdoors, especially with horses. She trained and rode horses, including for barrel racing. She was an avid reader and a passionate writer of short stories and poetry.
She is survived by her sisters; Goldie Boggs, Betty Carmody, and Barbara Johnson; seven nieces; and six nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Mattson; and her brothers, Daniel Carmody and John Carmody.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
