SIOUX FALLS — Frances Ann (Burke) Hendricks, 88, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday January 21, at St. Therese Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, in the St. Martin’s Cemetery at Huron. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Frances (Fran) was born March 20, 1930, in Riceville, Iowa, to Joseph Raymond and Mayme E. (Tiernan) Burke. She was united in marriage with James (Jim) Hendricks October 31, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville. Fran had many careers including teacher and business owner (Fran’s Fabrics/Yankton, and Huron Hospitality). She was deeply involved in her church and in the communities where she lived.
Fran is survived by her six children, Tom (Nancy) of Muscatine, Iowa, Mark (Sharon) of Shelton, Wash., Anne of Sioux Falls, Jane (Duane Lenz) of Castle Pines, Colo., Joan (David Bernard) of Dayton, Minn., and Mary (Gary Michaels) of Sioux Falls; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; their grandson, Justin James Hendricks; her parents, R.J. and Mayme Burke; and siblings, Patricia (Burke) Neils, Edward Burke, and Eileen (Burke) Chapin.
