Gary Gibson, 73, of Highmore, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019

HIGHMORE — Gary Lee Gibson, 73, of Highmore, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at his home due to a cardiac arrest.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, at the Church of Christ in Highmore. Burial will be in the Highmore Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, March 22, all at Luze Funeral Home of Highmore.
Gary Lee Gibson was born August 29, 1945, in Pierre to Bryan and Lucille (Westover) Gibson. He was raised and worked on the family farm south of Highmore until 1975, when he received his International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union card. He traveled across the country for 20 years working on power line construction, retiring in 1996. He was passionate about being a Democrat, his western wear, military soldiers, and driving his nice Ford pickup.  
He is survived by his siblings, Anna Mae (Paul) Ryan of Lancaster, Calif., Sharon Kay (Dick) Wilson of Sioux Falls, and Allen (De) Gibson of Highmore; sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Gibson of Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl LeRoy, Alvin, and Merlin; sister-in-law, Noreen Gibson; nieces: Cheryl Gibson, and Susan Bennett; and great-nephew, Jake Lidel.
