HURON — George Johnson, 69, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
A family funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Riverview United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Ideal Cemetery.
Military honors will be conducted by the De Smet American Legion.
The service will be livestreamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home’s Facebook page.Visitation will be from one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
George Wendell Johnson was born January 27, 1951, to Wendell and Lentina (Schaeffer) Johnson.He served with the South Dakota National Guard.
On January 26, 1974, he married Carol Berens.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; son, Eric (Brenda) Johnson; daughter, Tonya (Doug) Bumann; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Steve (Cindy)Johnson and Mark (Claudia) Johnson; two sisters, Carol (David) Graham and Margaret (Steve) Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leslie; and grandson, Brody Bumann.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the Kuhler Funeral Home.
