RAPID CITY— Gerald Dale Dammann, 78,  of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2017 at home.
Private services will be held.
Jerry was born February 24, 1939, in Wessington Springs, to Lester and Iva Dammann. He graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1957, and attended Huron College from 1960 to 1962.
He was employed by Ernie Grieme’s  Mobile Service in Huron, while he attended college.  He was united in marraige to Janice Lillie June 17, 1961, in Huron. The couple divorced in 1982.  
He began a career with Sears in Huron as a salesman in the appliance department. After the store closed in 1982, he worked a short period for Bell Motors. He then became the owner-operator of the Sears Catalog Store in Huron. In 1997, he moved to Rapid City working in the appliance department at the Sears store in Rushmore Mall until his death.
He was united in marriage to Shelley Hiermeier February 14, 2003. The couple resided in Rapid City.
He is survived by his sons, Kirk (Connie) of Mitchell, SD, David (Willa) of Murrieta, CA, and stepson, Jason Hiermeier of Rapid City; stepdaughters, Mellisa Pullins and Jennifer Hadlock of Custer; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one stepson, Jerad Hiermeier.
