Geraldine 'Geri' Kahre, 80, of Huron

HURON — Geraldine E. “Geri” Kahre, 80, of Huron, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her committal service will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wolsey followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Welter Funeral Home.
Geri was born April 16, 1938, in Wolsey to Carl and Louise (Schnabel) Jungemann. She grew up on a farm in Wolsey and attended school in Wolsey. She graduated from Wolsey High School in 1956. Geri was united in marriage to Vern Kahre July 27, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey. Geri was a longtime employee of Raven Industries and a homemaker. She enjoyed their 1941 John Deere Model “B” tractor, raising flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.
She is survived by her husband, Vern Kahre of Huron; one son, Kurt (Gwen) Kahre of Watertown, two daughters, Karla (Mick) Mitzel of Rapid City, and Tammi (Joel) Wilczek of Little Falls, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Jackson Kahre, Alex Kahre, Maggi Wilczek, Ted (Maria) Wilczek, Charlie (Daniela) Wilczek, Frank Wilczek, Leo Wilczek, Keenan (Nicole) Roberts, and Kasha Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Tandym Wilczek, Blaize Wilczek, Silas Wilczek, and Raiden Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerhardt and Harley Jungemann; and one sister, Hazel Haeder.
