HURON — Hazelle Geneva Timperly Jones, 100, of Huron, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the SunQuest Health Care Center.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 26, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Hazelle was born September 2, 1917, in rural Beadle County to Guy and Louessa Timperly.   She graduated from Huron High School in 1935. She then attended secretarial and bookkeeping training and worked for several companies in Huron, including Bartholow’s Paving Company.
She was united in marriage to Woodrow F. “Woody” Jones January 20, 1940. She and Woody bought a farm south of Huron and farmed until Woody’s death in 1993. She was interested in genealogy and was able to trace her roots to the Mayflower and beyond to Queen Anne Bolin of England. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Huron and the Ladies Guild.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Rita) Jones of Huron and Beverly (Larry) Oliver of Corvallis, Ore.; granddaughter, CariAnn (Arthur) Oliver-Belanger also of Corvallis; stepgranddaughter, Melissa (Mike) Maxwell; and three stepgreat-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and sisters, Doris Timperly, and Edith Timperly Dooley.
