HURON — With the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) not reporting new numbers on Easter Sunday, numbers were fairly low, even with the added numbers from Sunday’s report added into Monday.

The state added 156 new positive cases and 114 new recovered cases. That led active virus cases in the state to jump up to 2,485.

Beadle County reported two new positive cases and three new recovered cases in Monday’s DOH numbers. The county’s active cases dropped by one to 39.

In the Heartland Region, the testing numbers reported over the weekend pushed the total number of tests run across the seven-county region over the 50,000 mark. After Monday’s numbers from DOH, the region has recorded 50,152 total tests on 19,168 individuals.

The Heartland currently reports 145 active cases.
