MADISON — Helen A. Hegdahl, 95, of Madison formerly of Howard, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 19, at Bethany Lutheran Church at Howard with burial to follow in Belleview Lutheran Cemetery of rural Howard. Visitation will begin Thursday at noon with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
Helen Alma Anna Hageman was born November 20, 1922, near Winfred to Herman and Hertha (Lebahn) Hageman. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Hegdahl April 7, 1943. The couple made their home on a farm north of Howard until 1992.
She was very active in Belleview Lutheran Church, served on the Board of Directors for Bethel Lutheran Home and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Lloyd (Becky) Hegdahl of Ralston, Neb., Bonnie (Gary) Callies, and Marcene (Tom) Johnson both of Madison; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; brothers, Arnold, and Floyd; sisters-in-law, Berdine Hegdahl, Beverly Albrecht, and Eldred Langland Graham; and son-in-law, Jerry Potter.
