HURON — Helen Joyce Estes, 81, of Huron, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m., Monday at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with her family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Helen Joyce Stanfield was born to Dean and Grace (Butts) Stanfield near Artesian on Oct. 15, 1936. She graduated Huron High School in 1957 and was employed with St. John’s Hospital (HRMC) from 1953 to 1958. She was also employed by the Plainsman as a paper carrier.
In 1958, Helen moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she was employed with Western Union at Los Angeles and Carson.
She was married to James McBain in 1967 in California until his death in 1977. In 1989, she married Conrad Estes and they moved to Huron in 1990.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Stanfield of Wessington; sisters, Betty Seter of Billings, Mont., Alice Joy of Aberdeen, Janet Bobeldyke and Donna Stanfield, all of Huron; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
She is preceded in death by her husbands and her brothers, Eldon Stanfield, Ralph Stanfield and Bruce Stanfield.
