HURON — A full day of basketball is on tap today at Huron Arena, as the 281 Conference Tournaments for the girls’ and boys’ plays out all eight places.
Games will be played alternately, beginning with the girls’ 7th-place game at 9 a.m. between Sunshine Bible Academy and Iroquois-Doland. The boys’ 7th place game, featuring Sunshine Bible and James Valley Christian, will follow at 10:30 a.m.
The final day will also have a ‘rolling schedule,’ which means if a game gets done early, the next will start early.

The fifth-place game for the girls will see Wessington Springs take on James Valley Christian, followed by the boys’ fifth-place contest between Hitchcock-Tulare and Wessington Springs.
The third place contest in the girls’ division will see Wolsey-Wessington taking on Sanborn Central-Woonsocket. Both teams lost tough overtime contests in the semifinals and will look to rebound. The boys’ third-place matchup is between Iroquois-Doland and Highmore-Harrold.
And beginning at approximately 6 p.m., the contests for the championship hardware will tip off. For the girls, third-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare will seek to knock off top-seeded Highmore-Harrold in a battle of young teams.
And then the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds, top seeded and undefeated on the season, will take on second seeded Sanborn Centarl-Woonsocket for all the marbles in the boys’ tournament.
