HURON — Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its October Exceptional Employee of the Month, Amy Camin, with a reception on Oct. 11.
Camin, who has worked in health information management (HIM) at HRMC for more three years, was nominated by co-workers to receive the honor.
According to nominating co-workers, “Amy is self-motivated and never hesitates to take on extra duties.
“She has a good rapport with physicians and hospital staff — showing them respect and being a good communicator,” the nomination continued. “Amy’s wonderful sense of humor make her a joy to work with!”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations.

Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As October exceptional employee, Camin received a reception with family, friends and co-workers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Camin earned an associate degree in health information management from National American University
Originally from De Smet, Camin is the daughter of Claudia and Mark Johnson and the great-granddaughter of Elaine Linderman. She lives in Iroquois with her children Kara, who is 9 and in the fourth grade, and John, who is 7 and in the second grade.
In her spare time, Camin enjoys reading, crafting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at hr@huronregional.org.
