HURON — With 762 digs this season, Bryn Huber moved into the Huron volleyball record book for number of digs in a season. Her efforts helped the Tigers to a 19-11 record and seventh place finish during its 14th straight appearance in the Class AA State Volleyball Tournament.

Huber, who served as the libero in the Huron lineup, was named to the 2022 Class AA all-state second team, which was selected by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association.

“She was a team captain this year and quietly modeled what ‘right’ looked like,” Huron coach Josh Lien said of Huber.

Huber surpassed the 1,000-dig milestone this season and finisher her career with 1,489 digs, which ranks her third all-time in Huron volleyball history. She also ranks second and fourth in digs per match for the Tigers, with 48 against Aberdeen Central on Sept. 1 and 46 against Sioux Falls Lincoln in the state tournament.

“Bryn’s work ethic is something she can be proud of and will serve her in all aspects of her life moving forward,” Lien said.

“It didn’t matter if it was her day off, or if she didn’t feel 100 percent, she was in the gym working on getting better, giving her best effort.

“She is everything a coach could ask for,” he said.

Huber also had 37 ace serves this season and finished her career with 100 aces on 91-percent serving.
