HURON — Huron Middle School students Mason Hunter and Charleigh Brewer qualified for the National Junior High Rodeo Finals during the South Dakota State Finals Rodeo, which concluded Sunday in Rapid City.

The top four in each event from the state finals qualified for the National Junior High Rodeo Finals, which will be held in June in Perry, Ga.

Hunter reached the short go in the boys’ goat tying and ribbon roping. He finished third in goat tying.

Brewer reached the short go in the barrel racing, goat tying, breakaway roping, poles and ribbon roping. She finished second in barrel racing and fourth in goat tying.

The duo are partners in ribbon roping.
