Huron 13U swept by Renner

HURON — Renner Post 307 Blue 13U took a pair of games from Huron Wednesday at Klock Field, 18-5 and 7-3.
Renner grabbed the lead in the first inning and used a 10-run fifth inning to take a 18-0 lead. The Tigers were able to get five runs in the bottom of the inning but fell short, 18-5.
Carter Porisch tossed the first three innings, allowing eight runs on four hits and six walks, striking out five. Colt Culver came in relief, tossing 1 1/3 innings, allowing 10 runs on four hits and six walks, striking out one Renner hitter. Tyce Huber got the final two outs, though he walked three en route to closing out the inning.
Porisch led the Tiger offense with three hits, including a double. Jimmie Martin slapped a pair of singles.
Parker Bischoff, Josh Gilbert, Jackson Ford, Sean Janes, and Culver each had a stolen base.

Post 307 scored first in the nightcap, but after the first inning, the Tigers played even with Renner before falling 7-3.
Gilbert threw six innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and a pair of walks, striking out one.
Jaxon Spoonmore had a double and Gilbert stole a base.
Huron will bring a 5-17-1 record into Tuesday’s doubleheader against Sioux Falls East at Klock Field.
