Huron 14U girls’ team closes regular season

HURON — Second-ranked Mitchell scored five goals in each of the second and third periods en route to an 11-6 win over third-ranked Huron to close the 14U girls regular season on Sunday at Bergman Arena.
Alexis Rashaad had four of the six goals for the Lady All-Stars to earn the hat trick. Kylee Small had the other two goals.
Small and Shelby Timm each had two assists for Huron, while Alexis Priest and Elizabeth Heyer each had an assist.

Marissa Ready recorded 28 saves in the net for the Lady All-Stars, who ended the regular season at 9-5.
On Saturday, Huron edged Brookings 2-1.
Priest had the first of the two goals for the Lady All-Stars in the second period on a pass from Small to open the scoring.
Small had the final goal, also in the second period, with an assist by Rashaad to give the Lady All-Stars a 2-0 lead.
Ready collected the win with 21 saves in the net.
Huron will open play in the State 14U Girls’ State Tournament at 3 p.m. on Friday against Oahe in Sioux Center.
