Huron Area Center for Independence elects new board members

HURON — New officers on the Huron Area Center for Independence Governing Board of Directors for the upcoming year will be Jerry Mencke, president; Rhonda Hanson, vice president; Bruce Wintle, treasurer; and Randy Meendering, secretary.
Completing the board are members Wanda Barthelman, Tom Baszler, Steve Charron, Scott Cordts, Doug Kludt, Andrew Kremlin, Lori Wehlander and Bessie Willemssen.  
The primary responsibilities of the governing Board of Directors are to establish the agency’s mission and policies concerning the operation of the agency and the welfare of the individuals served, as well as establishing and monitoring its annual budget.

Recently elected to the Foundation Board of Directors were Scott Cordts, retired, Farm Credit Services of America; Scott Slepikas, farmer; and Huron resident Blaine Liebnow.
 The Center for Independence Foundation Board of Directors for the coming year is comprised of Chuck Rotert, chairman; Susan Searing, vice chair; Lisa Long, treasurer; and Randy Meendering, secretary. Other board members include Scott Cordts, Steve Charron, Rhonda Hanson, Jim Jones, Blaine Liebnow, Bob Rademacher, Scott Slepikas, Carolyn Stahl and Laura Willemssen.
Leaving the board after four years of services is Marilyn Engelmann; and Karen Marcus and Mona Jensen Olson after nine years. The Foundation Board is responsible for managing charitable gifts of money or property that promote community access and independence for persons with developmental disabilities.
