HURON — Roy and Rosemary, a piano/violin duo, will take the stage at Huron High School on Sunday, November 5 at 3:00 pm. It is the second of four concerts sponsored by the Huron Area Concert Association.
From the stages of Carnegie Hall to Walt Disney World, pianist Roy Tan and violinist Rosemary Siemens have been capturing the hearts of audiences the world over with their fresh arrangements, musical versatility, soul-stirring passion, stellar musicianship and unique style.
Each equally comfortable with classical and pop music, their diverse talents and improvisational skills have led to countless performance opportunities including: a number of performances at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, a performance as the first ever instrumentalist at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican; at the Egyptian Consulate in Washington DC; entertaining at numerous private events, including for Donald Trump at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach; as well as performances at the 2008 Beijing and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
In addition to being adept at on-the-spot improvisations in various styles of music, the duo is blessed with the special talent of perfect pitch, which has been an incredible gift for both of them.  A very unique part of their show involves taking requests from the audience, often learning and arranging unfamiliar tunes and even composing pieces instantly. Program highlights include “What A Wonderful World,” “Misty,” “Hallelujah” and lots more.
Season ticket holders can look forward to the Glenn Miller Orchestra on Monday, April 9, at 8 p.m.; and Derik Nelson & Family,  multi-media show, on Thursday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Huron.  Ticket holders can also attend concerts in Mitchell, Pierre and Redfield. Season memberships will be available for sale at the door on Sunday or by contacting Membership Chair Annette Bowen at 350-4745 or Emma Tschetter at 353-4939.
