Huron dance team competes in Aberdeen Central Spirit Invitate

ABERDEEN —The Huron dance team finished fourth during the Aberdeen Central Spirit Invitational, which was the season-opening event for the Tigers on Saturday.
Sioux Falls Washington used a score of 269.17 to emerge as the champions in the dance competition. Harrisburg was second at 242.50, while Sioux Falls Roosevelt was third at 231.33. Huron recorded an average score of 227.67 to claim the fourth spot, while Sioux Falls Lincoln was fifth at 215.50.
The Tigers had their strongest showing with their hip hop routing, finishing second with a score of 261.5 and no deductions. Sioux Falls Washington had the top score of 274.5.
Washington also had top scores of 250 and 283 in the jazz and pom categories, respectively.
The Huron dance team was fourth in the jazz with a 213, which put them behind Harrisburg at 247.5 and Sioux Falls Lincoln at 225.
