Huron golfers compete in Yankton Invite

YANKTON — The Watertown Arrows won the team title by two strokes, led by medalist Jake Olson, at the Yankton Invitational Golf Tournament, at the Fox Run Golf Course.
Olson came out on top of a three-person playoff with teammate Kaden Rylance and Harrisburg’s Riley Christensen, winning the medalist honors on the third playoff hole. All three golfers fired four-under 68s. Luke Olson and Sawyer Sonnenschien of Pierre and Hayden Scott from Harrisburg tied for fourth with matching 69s.
Watertown ended with an eight-under 280, to the 282 carded by Harrisburg. O’Gorman was third with a 284, one stoke ahead of Pierre.
The Huron Tigers were led to a 15th place finish in the field by Aiden Zavesky’s 85, while teammates Jack Bales, Riley Jankord and Kolton Ogle were 94th, 95th and 96th.
Huron is back in action Friday, at the Mitchell Invitational, then returns to Yankton for the ESD meet on Sept. 25.
