Huron golfers finish 15th at Yankton Invitational

YANKTON — The Huron boys’ golf team finished 15th in the Yankton Invitational, which was held Saturday at Fox Run Golf Course, with a score of 372.

Sioux Falls Lincoln carded a team score of 299 to win the event, while Watertown was second at 304. O’Gorman was third at 306, followed by Harrisburg at 312 and Yankton at 313.

Luke Honner of Lincoln was the medalist with a 1-under-par 71, while Jonah Swartz of Rapid City Stevens was second at 72.

Sharing the third spot with scores of 73 were Emmet Hansen of Brandon Valley and Austin Merrow of Sioux Falls Roosevelt.

Landon Roberts was the top golfer for Huron with a 79 to finish in a five-way tie for 27th.

Jaren Schley had a 93 for the Tigers to finish 81st. Rounding out the lineup for Huron were Will Smith at 99, Aiden Zavesky at 101, Landon Mohr at 112 and Kaiser Ruth at 112.
