Huron golfers open 2023 season in Brandon

BRANDON — A pair of Huron golfers opened their season at the Brandon Valley Invitational on Monday.
Aiden Zavesky carded a 90 for the Tigers, which placed him in a 9-way tie for spot No. 62 in the 108-golfer field.
Linh Vu, who was competing in his first varsity meet for Huron, turned in a 118.
Taten Mauney of O’Gorman recorded a 68 to win the 18-hole event by three storkes. Carter Peterson of Brandon Valley and Luke Olson of Pierre shared the second spot with scores of 71.
Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell and Hayden Scott of Harrisburg were fourth at 72, while
Harrisburg teammates Charlie Swift and Parker Schultz had scores of 74 to share the sixth spot.
The Huron golfers will be back in action on Aug. 22 at the Pierre Invitational.
