ABERDEEN — The Huron Tigers gymnastics team placed sixth with a total score of 130.60, at the Hub City Invite on Saturday afternoon. Mitchell was the first place team at 144.150, followed by Watertown with 143.375 and Rapid City Stevens’ with a finishing score of 138.750.
Erica Zell was the top Huron competitor and took seventh place in the all-around, with a grand total of 35.350. Huron’s Kassie Decker finished 16th in the all-around with an overall 32.50 score, followed by Emily Lord at 31.950.
Shay Trimble from Rapid City Stevens won the all-around title with a 38.325 score, followed by Myah Morris of Watertown at 37.225 and Maria Krall of Mitchell at 37.075.
Zell finished fifth on the balance beam for the Tigers with an 8.80, while Decker was 16th place with an 8.150.
Zell turned in a score of 9.40 to finish ninth in the floor exercise for the Tigers. She was also 10th on the vault with a score of 9.050.
Decker finished just outside of the top 20 with a score of 8.750 on the vault for Huron.
Zell was 17th for the Tigers on the uneven parallel bars with an 8.10, while Emily Lord was 25th.
The Huron gymnasts return to action on Friday at the Mitchell Invitational.
