HURON – A Huron man is in a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday afternoon southwest of Huron, authorities said.
The Highway Patrol said a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by Luther Dittmer, 26, was westbound on 212th Street when his vehicle veered over to the other side of the gravel road and struck the eastbound 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a 31-year-old Huron man.

Dittmer was taken by ambulance to Huron Regional Medical Center and later flown by air ambulance to Sioux Falls. Charges are pending. Whether he had used his seatbelt is under investigation.
The name of the Ford F-350 driver was not immediately released because he is not being charged. He was using a seatbelt and was uninjured, authorities said. He was pulling a trailer with baled corn stalks at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred at 12:36 p.m. two miles south and five miles west of Huron at 212th Street and 395th Avenue.
The Highway Patrol is investigating.
