Huron middle school track teams compete in Pierre Invitational

PIERRE — The Huron Tigers boys’ and girls’ middle school track teams took home some first-place medals on Thursday afternoon at the Pierre Invite.
First placers for the Tigers include seventh-grader Makenzie Siemonsma in the girls’ 100 and 200 meter hurdles events, Adison Moore for the seventh-grade girls’ 400 meter dash, Dylan Lichty with an 8-feet, 6-inches throw for eighth-grade boys’ pole vault and Sydnee Mitch with 73-08 in eighth-grade girls’ discus.
The seventh-grade girls’ track team took second place with a 104 score, the eighth-grade boys’ Huron team tallied 57.50 to place fourth, while the eighth-grade girls’ and the boys’ seventh-grade teams both finished in fifth for Huron.
The Tigers will travel to Mitchell for the Big Four Invite at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
