Huron, Redfield golfers compete in Hub City Invitational

ABERDEEN — Redfield and Huron finished seventh and ninth, respectively, during the Hub City Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Lee Park Golf Course.

Watertown used a 280, which was 4-under par, to win the event. Pierre was second at 298, followed by Aberdeen Roncalli at 310, Aberdeen Central at 319 and Milbank at 340.

Redfield turned in a 376, while Huron had 390.

Nick Bathun of Pierre needed a seven-hole playoff to claim the medalist honors over Jake Olson of Watertown.

The next four spots also belonged to Watertown at Kaden Rylance finished third at 69, while teammates Ty Lenards had a 71, Jaden Solheim had a 72 and Jerome Zebroski had a 75.

Aiden Zavesky was the top golfer for Huron with a 77 to finish 13th in the 64-golfer field. Jace Bales had a 91 for the Tigers, while Kolton Ogle had at 109, Jack Bales had a 113 and Riley Jankord had a 120.

Kevin Weller and Jaxen Campbell both shot 88 to lead Redfield and claim spots No. 31 and 32, respectively. Tristen O’Daniel turned in a 99 for the Pheasants, while Micah Zastrow had 101, Jacksan Rude had 102 and Seth Domke had 109.

Next up for the Huron golfers will be the Yankton Invitational on Sept. 8. Redfield is at the Parkston Invite in Mitchell on Friday.
