Huron to host four SoDak 16 volleyball matches

HURON — The volleyball SoDak 16 will kick off Tuesday for both Class “A” and Class “B” with the Huron Arena and James Valley Christian school each hosting a pair of matches featuring top teams in the state.

On Tuesday, Class “B” top-ranked and undefeated Warner (36-0) will face 16-seed Tripp-Delmont/Armour (11-15) at Huron Arena at 6 p.m.

The Miller Rustlers earned the fourth seed in Class “A” with a 27-6 record. The Rustlers will play the second game at Huron Arena Tuesday, facing 13-seed Flandreau (18-9).

Chester, the second-seeded team in Class “B”, will put its 29-2 record up against 15-seed Lemmon (18-12) at 5:30 p.m. at the James Valley Christian gym. Following that game, seventh-seeded Castlewood (20-8) will face 10th-seeded Philip, which is 24-10.

The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds, 28-4, received the sixth seed in Class “B” and will travel to Stanley County High School to face Kadoka Area (23-11) at 6:30 p.m.

Northwestern High School will host a matchup between eight seed Faulkton Area, 23-9, and ninth-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare, who is 24-7, at 7 p.m.

The winners of the SoDak 16 matches Tuesday will move on to the state tournament for all three classes, which begin Nov. 16 at The Monument in Rapid City.
