Huron wrestlers fourth at BV

BRANDON — With three wrestlers reaching the finals, Huron finished fourth in the Dan Pansch Invitational on Saturday.

Brandon Valley amassed 235 points to claim the title in the 9-team event, while Rapid City Stevens was second at 225. Tea Area was third at 160.5, followed by Huron at 115 and Vermillion at 93.5.

Tyson Lien claimed the lone individual title for the Tigers at 182 pounds. He pinned Dominic Tucker of Brandon Valley at the 3:59 mark of the championship match.

Also reaching championship matches for Huron were Tristan Cardona at 220 and Sebastian Cardona at 285.

Tristan Cardona was edged 3-0 by Owen Waren of Brandon Valley in the title match at 220.

Sebastian Cardona suffered a 13-3 setback against Navarro Schunke of Brandon Valley in the title match at 285.

Kaiser Ruth at 145 and Lucas Hofer at 160 were both third for the Tigers, while Moses Gross was fourth at 120. Will Radke at 126 and Jaren Sammons at 132 were both fifth.

The Huron wrestling team returns to action Thursday with a 7 p.m., match against Harrisburg at Huron Arena. The Tigers will then host Pierre in a 7 p.m., match on Friday.
