Huron’s Dakota Learners in action

Posted

HURON — Holly Feistner Peterson, Brookings, and formerly from Woonsocket, and Natalie Terkildsen, Alpena, recently finished the NCLEX Predictor exam for the Practical Nursing program at Lake Area Technical Institute.
The results from this exam tell them what information they need to study to pass the NCLEX-LPN exam to become Licensed Practical Nurses. This is the final exam they take before the NCLEX-LPN exam after two years of on-line classes in the part-time program.
Peterson and Terkildsen took advantage of the proctoring/mentoring services offered by Dakota Learners to help them complete their Practical Nursing degree. One of those services is proctoring online tests for Practical Nursing students in Huron and the surrounding area.

Joan Edwards is the proctor/mentor for Dakota Learners. Her office and proctoring room are located at the Fine Arts Building on the Huron Community Campus. She encourages anyone who is considering becoming an LPN through Lake Area Technical Institute’s online program to contact her for assistance. She can be reached at joanedw1@yahoo.com.
Dakota Learners is a subgroup of the Huron Regional Medical Center’s Nursing Task Force. It is funded by the HRMC Foundation and the Huron University Foundation.
